The Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF) helps Major Groups and Stakeholders to prepare their input and participation in the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and associated meetings. It takes place prior to UNEA meetings. Accredited Major Groups to United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) of UNEP are automatically invited to the Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF).
Participation in the GMGSF
If funding is available UNEP supports the participation of the following financially, in order of priority:
- The Major Groups Facilitating Committee (18 members)
- Two selected Major Groups representatives from each UNEP region:
- Representatives of the organization organizing the Forum
- Speakers and Resource persons
- Representatives of accredited organizations from developing countries
The "Green Tent/Room"
The Green Tent/Room is a meeting space reserved primarily for the participating Major Groups and Stakeholders during the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).
It is available for morning and evening briefings, ad-hoc meetings, press events, special events and bilateral meetings, and is equipped with several PCs with internet connection for use by Major Groups and Stakeholders organizations.
